Postgraduate teaching, supervision experience and current supervisions

 

I am interested in supervising MA and PhD students engaged in research in the economic and social history of modern Greece, Mediterranean countries, Ottoman Empire and the Balkans. Students with an interest in the history of gender (masculinity as well as femininity), labour history, industrialization, urban history, welfare state, social history of technology and science, social history of medicine, industrial archaeology are welcomed.

Recent and current MA students conduct research on the following topics:

1). The press workers of Patras after the Second World War: Physiognomy, changes, practices (completed 2008)

2). Social policy and dictatorship. The social reform of the Metaxas' regime, 1936-1940 (completed 2013)

3). The Agricultural Society “Lessini SA” 1934-1959 (completed 2013)

4). Veneral diseases in the port of Hermoupolis, 19th century (to be completed 2014)

Current PhD students conduct research on the following topics:

1). Industrial Labour Relations in Corfu, first half of the Twentieth Century

2). Manufacture of Ceramics and Brick Architecture in Nineteenth and Early Twentieth Centuries Athens

3). The Mines in North Greece, 1912-1940

4). Industrial Labour Relations in Corfu, first half of the Twentieth Century
