Linear Groups
ABSTRACT
Linear groups are groups that admit a faithful finite dimensional real (or complex) representation. In this talk, we will discuss Lubotzky's criterion for linearity and we will present more flexible and applicable variants of it. Furthermore, we will present some classical applications of the theory. This is joint work with Fred Cohen, Jon Lopez and Vassilis Metaftsis.
