Research Interests: I am especially interested in the so called «Poetology» or «Metapoetics» and I am currently working on the poetic self-awareness of Aeschylus’ Oresteia. My previous research has focused on Sophocles (PhD Sophocles and Sophistic: Common Anthropological Theories of Progress, Ioannina 1990, in Greek with English summary, in http://thesis.ekt.gr/2287) and I have also published a book, on the dialectics of time in Sophocles’ Electra. I have also published a number of articles on Sophocles, Cicero and Virgil.

Teaching: Ancient Greek Literature (Aeschylus’ Agamemnon, Sophocles’ Electra, Euripides’ Bacchae, Plato’s Republic), Latin epic poetry (Virgil’s Aeneid  II).
