Profile

I was born in Athens, Greece (interestingly, I share the same birthday with Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, whom you may also know as Caligula!). I did my undergraduate studies at the Department of Physics, University of Crete and my graduate studies at the Department of Mathematics, Imperial College, London. Before joining the Department of Mathematics, University of Ioannina, I was a postdoctoral fellow at Northwestern University and the University of Colorado at Boulder.

PhD in Mathematics (1999 - 2001)
Diploma of Imperial College
Department of Mathematics, Imperial College, London

with an optical soliton of the scalar Nonlinear Schrodinger Equation (NLS)
in anomalously dispersive optical fibres and of the vector NLS in birefringent
optical fibres.
